The company will lead two sweat filled weeks of training, rejoicing, researching, and community building, August 8-19, 2022.
As active artists at the University of Michigan, we are thrilled to welcome you into a state of the art facility in beautiful Ann Arbor. Our training platform nurtures professional dancers with years of experience alongside artists seeking to expand the range of their technical and performance capability. This is an advanced program and we find that positive encouragement in tandem with creative modifications allow all to pursue their practice fully. VIM VIGOR's anatomically sound approach to floorwork in combination with our pioneering dance theater methodology will invite you to tap unused resources in your theatrical and movement perspectives, explore the physical and emotional lines of partner work, and consider narrative devices as an additional resource for your improvisational and compositional approaches. Each day challenges artists to dig into the connections they will build between what they know and the great unknown wilderness of art making. Personal growth, communal investment, and evolving cutting edge practices are at the core of our shared work. Additionally, we value the necessity of each practitioner's wellbeing and begin and end our days with different forms of bodywork.
