VIM VIGOR's SUMMER PROGRAM is in response to the need for contemporary dance-theater based education in the greater NYC area. The PROGRAM is anchored in the company's commitment to activating the whole of the performer, from the extremes of virtuosic dance to the fluid awareness of emotion and experience.
VIM's program is focused on professional development with daily contemporary floorwork classes that improve dancers' ability to access their natural stealth and power into and out of the floor, as well as conditioning classes aimed at supporting healthy alignment and stability. Then in the afternoon the company will offer workshops focused on improvisation, contact partnering and momentum based mechanics, VIM VIGOR repertory, acting exploration essential for dancers interested in dance theater, creative exchange with the company, and roundtable community discussions.

To Apply:
Send a short letter of interest along with these supporting materials: Summer Program Form, resume, headshot, and video links. Video links should include two consecutive minutes of your dancing (choreographed phrasework and improvisation are both acceptable, but no editing please). There is no in-person audition for this program, so please share footage that best represents you. Please note, that dancers must be at least 18 years old, but there is no age limit. All participants should be advised that this is advanced professional training, and while we accept and value a range of experience, expect to the challenged every day. It's the best way to grow!

Once you have been invited to participate - a security deposit or payment of the program in full is required to reserve your spot. We have provided a convenient and safe PayPal link below to process your deposit - once we receive your deposit, we will follow up with an invoice reflecting the tuition balance. Location:
VIM VIGOR is thrilled to bring the third year of our summer program to the heart of NYC! We are holding our intensive at Gibney Dance Downtown. This incredible facility provides world-class studios/changing rooms/lounges, has direct access to many of New York's subway lines, and is a hub for contemporary movement practices in NYC. This downtown location also means dancers will be able to easily grab lunch at nearby coffee shops and restaurants.

Scholarships - due to the large number of applicants we are extending by one week!
Apply by March 8th -for full program applicants only:
Scholarships are only available for full, two-week program applicants. We have three scholarships available this summer, one full and two partial. Please explain your need in your letter of interest and include two recommendation letters of support with your application. Interested applicants must apply by March 8th and all will be notified by March 15th.

Early Bird Special - due to the large number of applicants we are extending by one week!
Apply by March 8th - for full program applicants only:
Our early bird special is only available for full, two-week program applicants (and can not be combined with a scholarship). All applicants who apply/are accepted/and send their deposit before March 8th will be issued a $75 credit towards tuition. Once we receive your deposit, we will send you a tuition balance invoice reflecting this credit directly from PayPal. (We will be speedy in our response to your application - allow for 72 hours).
Security Deposits / Tuition (to hold your spot with partial payment):
Two week tuition is $1400 / One week is $750
Once you have been accepted, all participants are required to submit a non-refundable security deposit in order to hold their place. There is a one time $25 processing fee included in this deposit. Once your deposit is processed, you will be issued a balance for the remaining tuition only - due by July 1st. If you would prefer to pay in full, please email us and you will be issued an invoice for the entire program (1 - 2 weeks) directly.
*By holding your spot, we must turn others away. Because of this, please be sure that you can join us as no refunds are possible for our educational platforms.
